Osteo
can’t really help you, I’m afraid, but Ihave OA in a lot of joints & the one that really hurts the most, & causes me lots of trouble is my thumbs! We use them so much! There’s lots of OA info on theVersus Arthritis charity web site,M perhaps look there? I have 11 named ‘illnesses’ so I really understand the ‘which pain is coming from which disease’ bit, & sometimes I just no longer know! I take tramadol, too…the time release version gives better lasting cover, but nothing takes away the sharp pain of OA in my thumbs, I’m afraid!
Feel for you my hands are awful in my case as well as RA I have Oa in them which was confirmed by x-ray , RA dept arranged that few years ago. Elbows not painful but have erupted nodules on them 🙄 Did you speak with the specialist nurse in RA dept about what can be done?
Also this site has advice number to call.
Pain control is very difficult I would contact my GP again saying you need referral for pain management please. Though expect waiting list. I have used talking therapy with local mental health group which helped me as at least someone accepted I was in pain & made some helpful suggestions.
My other refuge is massage latest one I like is Lava shell massage warmth of the shell gives me some relief for a couple days. Better than nowt. 😉
Its not uncommon to have both conditions … but since your pain is suddenly acting up it doesn’t sound like its OA it could be that your injection is no longer working and doctors are so stuck on bloodwork all the time as we suffer endless pains… I feel your pain my knees and feet are starting to act up from my PSA… endless just endless
