Got in the End

After surviving the pandemic, and following all the rules, I had the jabs and boosters now standing at 5 injections, Covid got me, and I don't recommend it to anybody, but on top of that I had to stop my methotrexate and benepali injections for 2 weeks, and because I was given the anti-viral drug "Paxlovid" my tramadol was stopped directly, I ended up going what felt like cold turkey, worse two weeks of my life. Now trying to recover but Psa has flared and the after-effects of covid with the fatigue and Psa swelling. Pain feels like it's put me back 5 years, I'm writing this not for sympathy but saying if you have not had any Covid vaccinations please go and get them as soon as you can, I can honestly say if I had not had my 5 jabs and the anti-virals I would have been in hospital on a ventilator, or dead and certainly not typing this slowly to hopefully help even one other person from going through what I have just experienced.

Hug xxAs Covid and/or boosters are the reason (as stated categorically by my Rheumatologist) for my undiagnosed and relatively dormant (a few flares over 10yrs) PsA, I’m now struggling and deteriorating quickly with my PsA, I’m anxious about having any more vaccines TBH. I have had the 2 doses and was very rough with both and have never fully recovered. Such a dilemma. I don’t want Covid but I can’t bear to make this awful disease worse 😔

Thanks for your post…I’ve had all the boosters & hope you feel better soon! I’m interested to know about tramadol & anti virals! It’s the only painkiller that has any effect on my ‘bunch’ of diseases, & I had to stop it once to see if it was causing the bad hand& arm tremor…after 1 week I was climbing the walls…the pain was bad, but the cold Turkey was appalling, so I understand. How quickly were you allowed to start again, please? For me, this is a definite problem, it affected my mind as much as my body, & that’s usually the stable part of me!

Take care Jessiedog67, I feel like you that maybe the injections saved me from far worse. But still feel a bit rough some mornings , they say a month to recover so I hope to start feeling better now . Your right it throws all your normal body systems out of control . I have not been sent details for my Autumn jab but news says they are hoping to commence next month which is flu jab time too. Every best wish for a good recovery from the virus, take things slowly.

I was on Stelara 6 years ago for (psoriasis) and a year later I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer my Endo, surgeon and dermatologist all said STOP the Stelara prior to surgery (dumb doctors) shortly after the surgery I developed psoriatic arthritis flare that has just destroyed my life it left me unable to walk I was bedridden for 2 years and Im still struggling 5 years after thyroidectomy… doctors have no idea the backlash people who take PSA drugs will suffer with when the drug is stopped ….. I regret stopping Stelara its been a living nightmare and I hope you can recover fast now your back on your meds I found Stelara never worked again for me after stopping.

Jessie,Sorry to hear your experience, I can understand somewhat as I recently started with RA, it has been caused by covid. It is obviously much worse from your description, if like you one already suffers from RA.

My RA consultant told me he has seen lots of cases of RA caused by covid and also caused by the covid vaccine.

I had already been vaccinated and boosted (J&J technology not mRNA) with no side effect from those vaccines, but did they benefit me? I’m not sure, jury is out for me as I still caught covid (all other vaccines actually prevent catching the disease, flu, small pox etc.), I did expect to get pneumonia (as I’m asthmatic and this usually happens with a cold for

me), but I hardly even had a cough.

I’ll never know if it would have been worse if I hadnt been vaccinated.

So for me I would not consider the mRNA vaccine as it may cause RA to worsen, and as the covid virus evolves it weakens.

I had 2 doses of AZ vaccine and was fine followed by a booster of Pfizer (mRNA) which made me really ill. In bed for days with very severe nerve pain in my leg which has improved slightly but never gone. Got Covid anyway in March which was just like a bad cold. The razor blade throat was the worst symptom! Didn’t affect my legs and my chest was ok (asthmatic) Now I don’t know what to do about the autumn booster. My instinct is to refuse - so scared of making my neuropathy even worse as it’s only just bearable now.
