Hi all hope you are as well as can be,I've just been diagnosed with pysoratic arthritis after months of blood tests and mri scans for possible lupus ,my main problems are very painfull swollen fingers in the mornings and dry itchy scalp and face( any recommendations for a suitable cream) I'm due to start methotrexate injections on monday 11/10/21 so I'm a bit nervous having never injected myself before any advise would be greatly appreciated. The injecting bit is easy - the idea of it is worse than actually doing it and methotrexate usually comes in auto injectors so you'll hardly know you are doing it.

People worry about injections but they rarely worry about pruning roses or picking blackberries or having a cat - and they can all inflict multiple injections at once! 😀

It takes a while to take effect but you can get good results with it.

Look forward to this positively - this is likely to be the help you have been searching for and doing all the tests to get to!

Good luck and go for it!

Hi there it’s Lorna here. Can I just say that I’m on Methotrexate Injections 25mls once a week and it’s completely turned my life around! I know it’s scary but everything has side effects it doesn’t mean you’re going to get them. Definitely for me the benefit definitely out ways any risks! I’m on it too for Psoriatic Arthritis. I was on the tablets for a number of years then as I was doing so well my Consultant reduced my dose. Very quickly my symptoms flared up and worse than I had ever experienced before. When they tried to put my dose up I couldn’t tolerate it. The side effects were horrendous. They switched me to injections and I’m doing fantastic on them with no side effects. I really wish you well with your injections and please don’t be scared self administering it’s a breeze! You’ll likely end up with a few bruises but it’s not sore and very quick so please don’t stress. Sending you luck, hugs and love 🙏🏻🍀💉❤️😘xx
