Does anyone of you having problem with your liver due to Prednisone use. My RA puts me on 20 mg prednisone since end of April 2020 and now I’m on 10 mg. But my blood tests show elevated ALT 340 U/L & AST 286 U/L, when I researched prednisone can damage the liver. I’m so concerned about this. Thank you for your reply.
I was on Prednisolone (prednisone) for twelve years and have been left with many of the toxic side effects.
Cataracts in both eyes, moon face, weight gain, especially around my middle and across my shoulder blades. Plus many other side effects.
Weak bones, last test revealed that should l have a bad fall l could break my hip(s) I have had three bad falls, hips okay. I have had my six major joints replaced and told that this is why l have not broken a hip. Just very badly bruised everywhere.
You must have regular blood tests, very important for liver, kidneys etc.
Please try not to stay on this (good) drug, but very toxic for your body, for too long.
Try to avoid. Steroids are dangerous to your immune system and I blame extensive and prolonged use of these for cataracts in oth eyes and noe ARMD in both eyes. Also I have a very weak and damaged immune system.I was prescribed these for my chest infections and had I known then what I know now I wold never have taken them. Please be very careful.Incidentally I was warned about steroids by a colleague Professor of Science, however, too late to prevent the damage. Best of luck
Further to my reply earlier I agree with princess1931 who posted after me.
My immune system is very bad, caused by Prednisolone, l have been on Lockdown (in the U.K.) since 12 of March because of the COVID-19. Steroids are not a pleasant medication.
I was in A&E earlier this year and was complaining to the doctor about the steroids and her reply was ‘well it saved your life’. Maybe true, l will never know.
