This is new to me. I'm just having tests. My hands hurt and occasional fingers get very swollen & hurt. X-ray has shown nothing & so waiting for a scan. In the meantime I have lots of typing of my clients to do. I have sussed sending text messages using microphone & I am hoping to use this for clients files, however, their files are in google sheets and although the microphone comes up and it types the first letter (so I would assume it's heard me) it types no more. I've got loads of typing to do and so I'm hoping if I can get this sorted a) it'll be quicker & b) it'll be easier on my hands - if anyone has any ideas I'd really appreciate it please - thank you so much

Hi, Purple-Dog. Did you resolve your issue? Are you using Google Assistant with your Google sheets? Sometimes these services are proprietary. Google is ferocious in pushing you to their services.
I know there's generic transcription software that crosses platforms.
I'll look into this and post back here.
I have trigger fingers in both hands and terrible hand pain. How awful to have to sort this in your work.
Hi - thank you for your help. It's fine thank you - bit of a nuisance & to be honest it was getting me down a bit. My actual job is swimming teaching and fitness coaching, which I love. It was nice coming on here and speaking with you guys. I have quite a lot of admin & actually I've been using the mike onto notes and copying across and also managed to get back onto wifi while on poolside which means I do literally a sentence or 2 each half hour on my ipad rather than loads in one go & on a keyboard. I've been trying to rest my hands quite alot since my message by using the mike to text also too, and they have felt better, which is probably because I've not been aggravating them. I notice my hands seem better when I'm out of the pool a bit too - eg not holding children/floats etc so much too. I have my scan Friday and actually I can feel typing this is aggravating 1 particular finger. Thank you again.
Thank you - I had my scan yesterday & it basically shows nothing - I don’t understand why one finger is so painful & swollen & a previous one that was too is now fine except I can’t do a proper fist with it. Plus all other fingers are a bit stiff & hurt a bit - not loads although boxing, which I love isn’t good - not done it for a year. My fingers at the top joints have started clicking/feel like they’re sticking. I got the guy to look closely at the finger that is sore & swollen & he said it shows nothing except a very tiny amount of wear & tear. I’m amazed - if I knock it or a child grabs it (obs at work) it’s, I’d say, agony (which sounds OTT). I’ve rested it lots and it’s alot better. It was getting me down, hence trying my hardest not to use it. They’re going to try to decide where to go from here. Maybe, as someone said, it could be repetitive strain. Although, I’m more stiff on some days than others in my back, hips, feet too - all very bizarre 😃. Thank you all for your replies - I was getting me down the day I typed - even picking up a coin was tricky x
Have they tested you for carpal tunnel syndrome yet? Or, perhaps repetitive strain if you've been doing a lot of typing that, as well as arthritis could be another factor.
