I work in a eyeware lab . So I’m constantly carrying the trays that the lenses and frames go in. Well few weeks ago I was noticing that not one but both wrist were feeling achy and weak as well. Since this started the symptoms haven’t gone away. They felt very weak today and makes my hands feel like I’m going to drop the trays do to my wrist feeling weak. Now I ask with both of them feeling weak instead of just one is this the OA that I know I already have or is this RA starting on me now? This is the first time that both side have started at the same time instead of just one . Makes me think that rheumatoid arthritis is starting on me now. I haven’t been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis yet. But I will bring this to me General practitioners attention when I see him in April. Has anyone else experience this?

Both wrist feeling weak.
Hi
I couldnt tell you if this is oa or ra but I have had the same problem on and off since I was about 40. (Im 60 now)
With me its oa. I have found relief through physio in general and have recently bought a wax hand bath which is excellent. When they were really bad i have had steroid injections which gave even better relief. The most recent advice i have been given by the physiotherapist is to rest them whenever i can and not use them which works but is easier said than done.
I hope you manage to find out what it is and find some relief...
Best wishes

Mgt8 I’m in my mid 40’s now. Arthritis signs started on me in my late 30’s . It originally started in my hands then started in my feet . About 6 years ago it started in my spine . Last month I started noticing that both of my wrist were feeling weak and tired all the time making it hard for me to carry things. Even things like holding my cellphone as well. So I don’t know if I should go to a rheumatologist about this or my general practitioner.
Hi
Yes, its frustrating isn't it.... its that fine movement and pressure in the fingertips that affects me too.
I went to my gp and they referred me to an ra consultant. There is ra in my family but the consultant confirmed it was oa. So I was referred then to physiotherapy. They are giving me exercises to do to strengthen the muscles in my wrists and fingers and it is helping slowly but surely.
PS I'm in the uk and in the nhs you have to visit your gp first.
Hope this helps
