Feeling Grumpy

Hi fairly new on here. Just got a letter back from the consultant Having been even sent again by my doctor for suspect Rheumatoid Arthritis. Which I'm sure I haven't got. So the letter sort of agreed but consultant will see me again if needed. I'm feeling sorry for myself at the moment because I really starting to struggle walking my dog because of back hip knee and foot pain I just don't get any pleasure out of walking anymore. Not getting any help or advice for my Osteoarthritis. Feeling useless

Hello. I too am being investigated for R.A. waiting for an MRI.

I was wondering if you could use a mobility scooter to get out and walk your dog.

Hugs Liz

I wish I could afford one. It's the walking I like but it's just getting more difficult.

Hi 🙂 I have OA in my spine, and I swear by Pilates. It is a form of gentle exercise which is very good for the back, as you are taught to engage the core muscles which protect the back. If you find a reputable Pilates instructor, who has preferably also gained the added qualification in teaching people with orthopaedic conditions, you will be in good hands.

Hope this helps, Jo 🙂

I second that! I have osteoarthritis in my spine and rheumatoid arthritis everywhere else and Pilates has been brilliant for me. It has helped with pain and energy levels and general flexibility. I now really feel it if I miss a week. I go to a class that is for wonky people and the trainer is very good at proposing alternatives for people, who can't do x or y or z.

Hi, I have osteoarthritis in my back and feet mainly, I have have a complete knee replacement of left knee. I used to be very mobile and athletic but because of all the trouble and pain walking & medication I have put on a lot of weight. My doctor has put me on NSAIDs short term and yes I'm not pain free but I am getting about and even doing some exercise, perhaps your doctor could give you a reprieve from the pain giving you th same for a sort term

I used to be on them when they thought I had Rheumatoid Arthritis. But had to stop because Of Stomach problems.

I do need to lose weight and have reduced food but more exercise is what I need , swimming would suit but can't afford because I gave up work instead of going on sick.
