Sorry to hear you are suffering. You say you have osteoarthritis so I presume you must have a Rheumatologist who diagnosed you and you see to keep a review on your health? I would contact your Rheumatologist ( with RA I also have a clinical nurse with a phone line I can contact ) and explain you are having additional pains and feel a review is required. Hope you are seen quickly.
Hi there that is a ridiculous answer , a blood test is not helpful in many cases of pain its like my doctor told me to rest my knee for a couple of days and if it did not improve go back , but then you have the problem of getting an appointment. I was also told my blood result was fine when in fact my uric acids were three times above the norm. I am waiting for a knee replacement op which I would not expect to get better with rest. But I also understand the doctors are under pressure to deliver and more and more patients are getting discouraged with the lack of knowledge in the GP sector and willy nilly diagnosis. Then when a good doctor makes a correct diagnosis it is over ruled by a senior partner thereby delaying treatment. Good luck at trying to get your problem sorted. PS try one of the herbal remedies for pain, like Tumeric, CBD capsules, not cheap but what price do we put on pain.?????
When I was first diagnosed with arthritis it was back in 1976 and I was aged 23. They first diagnosed osteoarthritis and then later changed it to psoriatic arthropathy. Doctor's feel the need to define closely what the chronic illness is because it helps them apply the most appropriate drugs. And that's where they generally stop until it comes to the time for operations to replace joints.
Getting rid of the pain starts with healing your gut, and that is down to what you eat. Whole food plants are by definition anti-inflammatory add to that things like a daily dose of turmeric and black pepper and over time the pain can reduce. But then dealing with the osteo side of things (and I was told back when I had arthritis I already had arthritic joints of a 55 yr old) is about rebuilding the body. That is down to yoga, especially hot bikram-style yoga, known as the healing yoga. It is a very safe kind of exercise, but it is hard cadio work that comprehensively addresses all parts of the bdy, and that is exactly what you need to deal with osteo arthritis.
Following this route I have no need for any modifications to my home anymore, no need for the wheelchair, and even on the odd day can run for the bus! Which I need to do now to catch my bus to my lunchtime yoga class.
thank you that's such a hopeful post.
