Managing Pain

I have osteoarthritis in several joints of my body. I was originally on Tramadol but because of excessive sweating I came off it and prescribed Zapain. It works sometimes but I feel I still have the need to take Tramadol for flare ups.Anyone else taking these meds???

Hi,

My osteoarthritis started in my right knee. I underwent a partial knee replacement in November 2015. At the time, immediately after surgery in my room, I was administered liquid Tramadol for pain relief. It just didn't cut it ! I took my regular Cocodomol 30/500 which worked.

Because I have a heart arrhythmia and am on Warfarin I am severely restricted as to what I can take for pain relief.

Nowadays I have confirmed osteoarthritis in my neck and right shoulder. When it gets too much the only pain relief now I can take is Cocodomol 30/500. My pharmacy supplies it as Zapain 30/500. I must say it works very well.

The OA is weird, I can feel a weather change coming through long before it arrives.

You need to be referred to a pain specialist. There are better alternatives to the two medications you take which are both highly addictive. I have been on but since being on a pain management programme I have been started on a slow release opiate patch which I found really helps.

You can consult with your doctors. Tell your doctor if your pain does not get better or if it gets worse. The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. ... If you wait until the pain has worsened, the medication may not work as well. addictionrehabcenters.com/d...
