Polymyalgia Rheumatica
Hi Caradomben - Just a gentle suggestion - You would probably get faster results if you post this in the NRAS (Rheumatoid Arthritis) section. I'm sure there are others there that have this too..
Hello. I am on the forum PMR/GCA, which I suggest you contact for your health concern. Friendly, extremely helpful group.
I was diagnosed with this two years ago. I must admit I struggle with the steriods . I found the shoulder pain to much to hear the pain in my shoulders i felt no one understood. I have have several flares and pain in my hips. My advice to you would be rest and listen to your body on check felt well I did too much and was in bed next day. Do things at your own pace. I did read that PMR can disappear overnight that's what I hope for i wish you well and be very kind to yourself
Thank you for your reply . I do tend to over do things and then suffer for it. I am on 20 mgs prednisolone just now . The stiffness seems to be better but afraid the pain is much same. Due to go back to my GP on Wednesday. I also having sweats which I am not sure is me or the steroids .
The steriod you are on is same one I am on and I suffer terrible sweats and it gets a bit worse when steroids are reduced i was prescribed tramadol for the pain but they are highly addictive. I was not told this until I had been taking them for 6 months they did used to take the edge off the pain . I was told to take painkillers every 3 hours which did give me some relief tramadol them 3 hours later paracemol . Make sure you protect your stomach taking steroids too. I have had some very funny symptoms taking steroids over the last 2 and half years i am currently doing another reduction which makes me have sweats if there is anything you want to ask just let me know also I found warm bath an Epsom salts helped me shoulders and neck look after yourself I know what PMR is like no one can see pain i wish they could sometimes
