Have just started talking Leflunomide and have nausea stomach cramps. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if they eventually eased. Don’t want to stop the tablets just yet as early days. Also how long did people find they took to work?

When first started it made me physically sick every morning but I’ve been on it for a few years now and it’s really helped. I think the sickness went after a few weeks. It helped to eat something about 15 minutes before taking it. Hope things improve for you soon.

I've been on Leflunomide for years. No problems except for high blood pressure, but I'm also on Pred so not surprised. Like most DMARDS, LEF takes about 12 weeks to start working. Perhaps you could ask for a course of steroids to tide you over.

Hello, I took leflunomide for 3yrs for psoriatic arthritis, just coming off it now with cholestyramine to move onto a biologic drug.

It does take some getting used to, made me feel sick for ages but stick with it. Leflunomide is definitely the best one I have taken out of drugs like methotrexate and sulphsalasine. Its really easy with just one small tablet a day, was brilliant for me xx
