I am a 79 yr old, quite robust as I have good genes however I suffer from arthritis in the large joints. In the early 80s I damaged my neck at work, the pain was referred to the shoulder, after many cortizone injections I developed depression. After many years it was decided that my problem was 5th/6th neck disk, aggressive physio as been able to keep me going. During July it flairred again and I was put on the NHS waiting list for physio. On a want to know basis I invested in a private, doctor approved, MRI scan, results as suspected, comparable with a bad car accident, however when I presented the resulting MRI DVD to the surgery i was informed we can't use this as it could have a virus that could affect the NHS computers. It's GREAT DAY tomorrow I have my first treatment. Oh' forgot to mention I am my wifes full time carer, she suffers with dementia, its good to live in a welfare state.

Thank you for your support, I feel abandoned by the NHS, now taking 4 paracetamol per night, sleeping with jumper sleeves on my arms from the shoulder, hands like bloated sausages, pins and needles uggggg. I have an MRI scan that shows nerve impingement in the neck, but still not offered any help. I know there are many worse off than me, however, this is how I am, 79 next month and still working a 12-14 hr day, Peace & good fortune.
