Hip bursitis

hi I am new on this site and was wondering whether anyone has had shockwave therapy. I have been offered this by a muskoskeletal clinic for my bursitis. I have had this condition for eight years. I have had many injections which did work for a while but the last one I had never worked at all. I am due to go to a pain clinic sometime, I have been waiting two years on their list!! I am hopeful they will be able to help me as I also had a bad accident in 2014 and suffered a traumatic T12 fracture and since then I have been in agony with my back. I have osteoarthritis in my back and degenerative changes in the discs. I am in pain constantly. I cannot walk more than a couple of steps before I have to sit down due to the pain. All in all I am looking forward to going to the pain clinic. I just wanted to know if anyone has had shockwave therapy as the bursitis in my hips is very painful. I don't get much sleep with it and it also hurts just sitting down. Sorry to go on and thank you for reading my post.

Hi waggy i was treated for hip bursitis for quite a while with injections, never offered shock wave therapy. I was not getting any better so had MRI and it would appear alot of the psin which I thought was bursitis was actually from bulging discs , one of which has slipped and all being well will have surgery this week.

hi weathervane thank you so much for responding to me. I di hope your surgery goes well and you get back to full health. I assume it's major surgery so look after yourself. I had major bowel surgery last September and it took a long time to recover. Anyway the best of luck x
