Hi, First became aware of A.S. about age 17 though not diagnosed seven years later. Over the next thirty odd years my spine totally fused including pelvis, ribs and neck. Fortunately had a job where was able to cope without to much time off. In 1989 had both my hip replaced. About 5 years ago following severe pain it was discovered that these have worn out and disintegrating and wearing voids in my pelvis. A top specialist decided to do nothing but monitor . A couple of years ago had a bad fall and have been deteriorating since and now have virtually no movement, am supposed to be being referred to another specialist but so far had too wait 7 months and have heard nothing! I have experienced most of the other " side effects " of A.S. Iritis, psoriasis, stomach problems due to anti-inflamitory drugs. Also past 12 years enlarged prostate now resulting in incontinence ! I have tried to keep active all my life and always been very stoic, however quality of life now at zero.....

Hi I have suffered from ankolosing spondilitis for 30 years I take humira injections every 2weeks the pain is less now, I still work but looking forward to be retired
