I recently had the privilege of meeting Jennifer Silliman and Maureen Fura, producers for an upcoming film on perinatal and postpartum depression, mood disorders and psychosis. The film is titled Dark Side of the Full Moon. The film will be the first film to take an intimate look inside the unseen world of pregnancy and postpartum depression, anxiety and psychosis. Piecing together the collective story through gripping, first hand accounts from the women who have suffered in silence...
So incredibly thankful to you for taking part in this film and demystifying Postpartum Psychosis alongside other perinatal mood disorders. We know that the stigma seems really almost even worse in the USA and wish the Dark Side of the Full Moon film every success.
Look forward to being able to post a link for it on the APP website in 2015 when it's completed.
A very Happy Easter to you and the production team
Yes, I am hoping the movie will have much success. They are in the fundraising stage so hoping to help them get recognition and raise funds for this much needed film.
Yes, the USA has a long way to go in eliminating stigma but talking openly about Postpartum Psychosis is the first step.
I'm so so pleased that postpartum psychosis is going to be specifically included in this film! And Jennifer is a wonderful advocate for women who have suffered from this!
Yes, this is great news! I really like the title too. If there's anything we can do to help promote it at this early stage, do let us know. Very well done indeed & wishing it every success!
Please, before finalizing this film - I'd like to share my research and personal story - when only a spiritual intervention brought me out of a 3 1/4 year bout with psychosis. No woman should have to experience what I did - and, as a result of having gone through 2-3 traumas at the age of seven. Please, visit my URL to see if I could be of any help in this desperately needed area of women's maternal health and set the record straight as to why mothers have waited since 400 BC for help.
