APP BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal

Hi all,

You may have seen on our social media, that we have recently had our BBC Radio 4 Appeal by fantastic author & APP Ambassador, Laura Dockrill, to help us reach more women and families affected by PP.

APP supports women and families throughout the UK, develops information, trains health professionals, campaigns for specialist services, and facilitates research into postpartum psychosis that affects 1-2 in every 1000 new mums.

Our Radio 4 appeal will help to fund our cafe groups around the UK where women who have experienced the illness can meet and support each other.

I listened over the weekend, and I must admit it was very heartening and empowering hearing the wonderful Laura Dockrill's voice talking about her experience of Postpartum Psychosis and also of her recovery with support from Action on Postpartum Psychosis. The words Laura uses to sum up the experience of APP's support - are simply wonderful - I won't spoil it.
