Having just come home after a hair-raising emergency admission , in which the chest infection took huge liberties when I had no defences after the chemo, and I had to totally trust me medical team..(without their brilliant intervention I may not have made) it it occurred to me how massively important it is to be be able to put your complete trust in those who steer your treatment.. Thinking of those who have to succumb lets say to ECT or those who have run out of good will with their carers. medical staff families, etc but feel incredibly vulnerable .. so much so that its almost impossible with fear raging, to trust in their doctors or other medical staff. Its always a factor , and I feel so much for those who are going through difficult times mentally, unsure of the future, and frightened by their symptoms..
Its wonderful thing to be able to put your trust in someone who has your health and wellbeing at heart. In the community some staff get very tired, and feel defeated , and this does not improve the therapeutic relationship.
Just a thought of how we can improve this important aspect of ooking after our health.
Love to all
