That's good news. Hope they kick in soon, mine took a week and a half in 2014 but I've heard that's very quick. Take care
Hi Ashley,
I hope the medication helps. Will the doctor be referring you to a psychiatrist, ideally perinatal psychiatrist? If I remember he isn't a psychiatrist is s/he, but a general doctor? Did you feel s/he listened to you at the appointment and understood your symptoms?
Are you getting any support from a mental health team too? Such as a mental health nurse or support worker who can just be there to support you? Did the doctor mention anything about counselling also?
You really need all of those things, but I know it's hard to ask for them when you aren't feeling well
Take care
Ellie
Hi Ellie,
My doctor is just a regular doctor and I told him everything. He said that it could take months to see a psychiatrist so he put me on the antipsychotic meds and I see him again pip in 4 weeks. I am also seeing my gynecologist on Thursday and I'm going to see if there are any kinda of help I could get at the hospital that I gave birth at
Great. I hope you feel better soon. Its different for everyone but Some things that help me recover while I'm on the medicine is talking to people, exercising like going for walks or YouTube Leslie sansone. I know I'm well when I can read for enjoyment again.
