Hi Katy,

Thank you for posting the article. I find it so comforting in a way to hear other's stories. There is a lot I share in common with your experience. I also when back to the psych ward soon after being discharged because of a major depressive episode. I particularly like the part at the end when you thought " if you only knew" about when people ask you about more children. I still struggle with the feeling of inadequacy about not wanting more children and it hits that nerve when people ask. I've been caught off guard several times when strangers ask.

Take care!

Hey Katy - I've just managed to catch up and read it. It's a brilliant article, thank you SO much for sharing your story and to the DM for putting in all the facts and contact info. Absolutely wonderful! I'm so sorry you and your family have been through so much, but thankful you got the right help. So much resonates with me, including the subsequent bipolar disorder diagnosis... very many best wishes to you x

Thanks for sharing, stories like this really help raise awareness and understanding. I also recently was diagnosed with PPS after having my first child in June. I have couple of friends trying to get pregnant and think they really didn't get it..probably just thinking im lucky i have child now. Little do people really know is right..

Hello sineadno1

Thank you for replying in this thread. Sorry to hear you had PP as recently as June. I hope you are slowly recovering with good after care and family support. It's sometimes difficult for others to understand what a traumatic illness PP is but with such brave mums raising awareness in time there will be more understanding and help available if the unthinkable happens.

Take good care of yourself .... we are all here if you would like to chat at any time.
