Hi, here's my story. I was healthy with no previous health issues. I had my son in November 2013, I was in hospital for 6 days due to a retained planceta and my son had jaundice. I had no been sleeping due to the lights always being on in the ward and having to share with 4 other mums and babies. Day 5 I remember not sleeping at all and walking around the ward asking if I was going as but none of the staff seemed worried. I went home on day 6 and in the middle of the night had to get the doctor out as I thought I was going back into labour. (My labour was 39 hours so no way wanted to go that again) I sent 2 days at home with lots of health care staff visting. I was then moved to Bournemouth mother and baby unit were I stayed for 2 weeks and was treated with olzanpine and sleeping tablets. I was on olzanpine for 14 months. But now I can say I am fully recovered. What's ur story?

Hi Crazyunicorn,

I live in Brazil and had to have 2 caesareans as they left a swab in me, all the stress caused PP. it was pretty terrifying but you do get through it eventually. From reading others stories I was pretty lucky and just had crazy hallucinations like my baby had died, and that I had 2 babies because I had 2 caesareans. I've been taking sertralina for just over 2 months now and am finally enjoying being a mum. Seeing my baby smile - and he has a super cute grin - makes it all worth while.

Look after yourself!

xx

Hi crazyunicorn,

A big warm welcome to this community. Well done for finding us & reaching out - both can be so hard to do but it's a really positive step forward. You'll find lots of stories here from people at all different stages of recovery, some are where you are now & others had PP many years ago. I hope the stories from people who went through PP ages ago, give you lots of hope that everything really will be OK in the end & you'll get through this.

Have a search through all the posts here (you could search 'by Topic' on the RH side). There're also lots of personal stories, poems, short videos etc. on the APP website here: app-network.org/what-is-pp/...

You're definitely not alone, we're here for you x
