I have a freind who has this. she tends to blast herself with cold air from a fan and take deep breaths also buccastem 3mg buccal tablets (from Gp) antiemetics may help.

Thank you for replyng. Thankfully I am well aquainted with Buccastem cos u can buy them over the counter in some places. Sadly though I think I use it as a safety barrier to sop me having to go through it and face the fear. Whilst this may help at the time, I know it won't help in the long run. But till I can cope with it in the presesnt....

Thank you for replying. I often feel sick when I need the loo too strangely. I have heard a lot about these 'ginger' treatments but problem is when I feel sick I don't wanna put anything in my mouth cos it makes me feel worse. What is the travel sicness stick u refer to. I get travel sic really bad (which doesn't help) might try it? I used the bands when I was younger but they didn't really work for me, can you use them in general as well as travel sickness then? x

I too suffer from chronic emetophobia. Thats the reason i'm up on this site now, my boyfriend has a sickness bug and i was with him all of yesterday. The fear triggers my anxiety and as i have panic disorder, i find it difficult to behave in a rational, calm manner.

Do you feel when you think you have a bug totally helpless.. I've genuinely even considered suicide to get out of it before. Whenever my sisters would have a bug i used to lock myself in my room and cover all the gaps in the door to block any air born germs entering in my room in the last little hope i had of not catching it. Cognitive therapy i've heard is an excellent way out, it trains your brain into believing it's a natural thing, and that it's okay. Also, if ever you feel sick, controlled breathing and fresh air will help! google remidies that settle the stomach. I hope you feel better soon! x
