We have so much going on in the world right now that people like us that live in fear. The pandemic and everything else we try to cope but something always pulls us in. When a cycle on anxiety hit you don’t know what r why it’s just r body’s way of telling us we stressing. Ok well why every time something happens we freak out and everything goes south. Er is a joke they send you home say acid reflux r something. Because they know your history of anxiety and put it on that. Check your vitals send you back and then home. The world is in desperate need right now. It’s just a matter of time. We need to think about what’s going on let it run and keep you home for a couple day that’s shity. We need help to believe me if I could let one of theses doctors feel the struggle they would appreciate r feelings and bet they will never want that to happen to them agin. That’s how we all feel just pisses me off that they blame it on anxiety how can they treat us if they don’t have it r never experience it. Answer that any doctors on here waiting

I am not a doctor but I've worked in the ER and know that once they know that it is not

catastrophic, they tend to lean towards anxiety. Give you a couple benzos and send you

home. We have to remember that their job is to address any life threatening issues. Unfortunately, anxiety doesn't come under that heading. Also, anxiety is not a quick fix.

They will recommend following up with your doctor and send you on your way.

Of course, when you get home, the symptoms usually reappear and anxiety builds in thinking they missed something. I've also been a patient in the ER during my Anxiety years and have seen how this feels from the patient's perspective.

I agree with agora1. Anxiety will sometimes calm at the hospital because you feel safe there. Probably because we think if something happens they can fix it. Sometimes just getting an IV with glucose calms us down. Which could actually be dehydration. I drink alot of water and sometimes Gatorade Zero it actually helps. Listen to your body. Journal your food and drink. It could be that simple. A beer or glass of wine when your not working or driving once in awhile can calm the mind and nerves. And by all means when you feel like you need a nap take one. Good luck to you.❤
