Buspirone will take away the feelings of panic. So you will never recover. To recover you must pass through the panic.

However, if you are overwhelmed by panic and it is jeopardising your ability to hold down a job or to support a family then take the Buspirone. But one day when you're in a better place you may want to stop the Buspirone and face the panic once more in order to pass through it and recover.

The best way to determine how this drug works for panic in you, is to take it, and observe your response to panic.

always best to take your own opinion of these things.

Buspar is usually prescribed for anxiety and has been effective for me. Klonopin or xanax or similar are more for panic because they are quicker acting. Like Jeff says, the drugs tend to mask the feelings of anxiety/panic and in my case, did not eliminate my anxiety. Therapy in combination with the drugs helped me recover and I was able to gradually reduce and eliminate some of them. If you are a long-term sufferer of anxiety disorder like I was, the value of the drugs was to allow me to start to see and feel what "normal" was like

I like your comment about seeing and feeling what normal is like. I often question myself regarding how that feels.
