Hi, Does anybody relates to that? I am trying to figure out why I behave like this and would like to know if any of you had the same experience.
I had anxiety since I was 6 years old. My psychologist is a result of witnessing my mum's uncle dying at home when I was 5 years old. We were all sitting around his bed, I was close to him, my mum and grandma were crying and my mum told me that I kept saying to him "Please don't die, wake up!!" I remember this event pretty well. Soon after that I develop anxiety, my mum didn't know much about it, those days not many people knew, they put it down to nerves. Every time I had an episode happened to be at night time, and my mum instead of calming me down she always wanted to rush me to the doctor's.
I was thinking that maybe because of that I always want to rush to A&E. How did your mum reacted to your anxiety, did she calm you down or did she panic? Thank you for reading my post.

Hi Star68, sorry about your uncle. It is very important not to expose children to traumatizing events at such a young age, sorry you went through such an awful experience at such a young age. I completely understand you. I was doing this myself a few months back when I started getting rapid heart beats. It took a lot to stop myself from doing this after so many check ups that came up completely fine. I do believe that you are going to the emergency room for reassurance when you feel these symptoms I know that's why I was doing it after the first couple times.
