I have horrible tension in my neck. I have asked this question before, maybe no one has experienced this, but my GP recommended pristiq which is an antidepressant. Anyone had any experience with this.

Hi autumn, The tension in my neck is something fierce. It's so unbelievably tight. I'm about to put a hot towel right out of the dryer around my shoulders and neck as I sit in front of the computer. I've never tried Pristiq, let me know if it helps should you try it. xx

Thanks for reply, it's sitting in my cabinet for 3 weeks. Afraid to try it. I know that is part of my anxiety... incidentally my name is Brian, my name is misleading. It's my daughters name and one day she was seriously annoying me while I was thinking of a password for some site, so I used that password. I use it for a lot of stuff cause it's easy to remember, lol

Hi Brian, Oh I'm very familiar with the prescriptions being filled and then put on the shelf along with the others. We all are the same believe me. It's a matter of taking that first pill and knowing you are going to be okay and are one step closer in starting to feel better.

I am on Lexapro (SSRI) and it does help with anxiety but the tightness in my neck is where I hold all my stress which I'm sure is what you are doing as well. I don't know what to tell you that you don't already know in that the med sitting on the shelf isn't helping :)

I'm very protective of my neck in that I know what I can and cannot do w/o getting a kickback. I use heat to relax the tight muscles which helps some. Even if you do find someone who has taken it, it's always best to start a new medication with an open mind, the belief that it will work for you and giving it time to work. Let me know once you give it a try in how it helps you. :)
