Anyone take quetiapine for derealziation or anxiety?

I used to take this medication it's not for anxiety or derealzation it's for bipolar disorder/ schizophrenia I don't mean to alarm you but I think you need to go and see your doctor this is prescribed by a physician that deals with mental health so I assume that's who you have seen, I think you need to go and speak to your doctor about it for anxiety I was prescribed fluoxetine and derealzation lamotrigine I hope this helps don't just stop the meds but you do need to find out why they have given you this medication. Hi abzaboo, I take quetiapine for anxiety. I'm meant to take 50mg at night to help me sleep but I find that it completely wipes me out so I take 25mg of a night. People being treated for bipolar/schizophrenia are on a much higher dosage. What did you want to know about it?

I saw my doctor yesterday about my early morning anxiety. At the moment I take 150 mg of trazodone at night to help me sleep and have no problems with that. He has upped that dose to 200 mg. for a couple of weeks to see if that helps. If it does not he has suggested a low dose of quetiapine (12.5 mg). Are you still taking it and is it still helping. I am a bit concerned about side effects.

Thanks for both your replies I'm only on 50mg at night for 6 weeks until I see the dr again. I just didn't understand why i was prescribed it if I only have anxiety and derealziation.

Your doctor sounds like they're doing the right thing it's an antipsychotic so if you're struggling to sleep because of your anxiety that's why he's probably prescribed it. I was exactly the same when I first started taking it - I thought are they trying to secretly tell me I have bipolar. Are you on any other medications?

Oh good I do sleep much better. Yeah I have fluxotine only 20mg
