Lustral 50 side effects

Hello , am on lustral 50 since march because i get panic attacks and let me say that i hate this med .. i started with 25g and increased to 50mg .. it increased my anixity, last month my gp told me to increase the dose to 75mg so i did .. during a monthbi was not able to wake upinbthe morning , i was sleeping for 12 hrs a day and i felt disconnected , i wud totally forget everythg happened the day before.. felt the dose is too much so i talked to my gp and he said maybe lustral 50 is not good for me and i ve to withdraw it .. i withdraw 25mg .. since i took the med i feel anxious and sometimes i feel like am soooo much scared and not normal .. the dizziness didnt stop also evwn after 4 months ? Is this normal with lustral , have any1 felt the same ??

Hi Kinda, from personal experience I can tell you that those are normal side effects of sertraline (Lustral). I took 50 mg for 7 months and I've been reducing them to alternate days for the past 2 months as I am trying to come off. I too found these side effects extremely annoying, but overall I felt much better than before. My anxious thoughts were still there, they just wouldn't manifest in any way. That of course led to me becoming very cold with everyone around me. I didn't like that and that is why I don't feel like I need to continue with the medication. However, you should talk to you gp about switching to another type of drug? Maybe a benzodiazepine like diazepam or something a bit more like a sedative rather than an anti depressant as it doesn't seem to be bringing you much relief from your anxiety.
