Has anyone tryed Propranolol for anxciety and did it help them?

Hi I tried it but the lowest dose I did not find it helped me but I took it while waiting for counselling to start. Personally counselling,cbt and meditation has been most effective x

Thank you I've taken medication befor so I'm just abit scepital about taking it I don't want to end up like I was last time and yes i have an appointment with the phycolgist on Wednesday so I'm hoping they can help as I don't want to take medication x

2 years ago I started having some lightheaded maybe once every 6 months than past forward a second set of twins dizziness because very pronounced ( feeling off balance , like I am drunk or on a boat ) .

Of course I have underlying anxiety which was heightened after two sets of twins ... so I had a work up thinking I was dying .. after negative work up for MS , Lyme , brain tumor , inner ear issue , multiple blood draws .. I was left with feeling still dizzy and no freaking answer or treatment . My symptoms worsened with at times even difficulty catching my breath and feeling nauseous .. I tried ginkgo, vitamins b , magnesium , vestibular rehab for possible vestibular migraines .. finally I cave in and decided to try propranolol knowing it is multiple side effects .. I was desperate ..

guess what ?? I am 100% better . Only taking 40 mg daily .. I am not dizzy , I feel

Normal again .. not sure if it is a placebo effect or I truly have vestibular migraines ( which propranolol can help prevent ) or if it is helping my anxiety .. but I wanted to share my story , so other people that are suffering can see there is a light at the end of the tunnel .

I'm on 12.5mgs of propranolol and this doesn't do anything for my anxiety disorder

Yes. On a certain level it helps with anxiety. But, primarily, it helps with heart palpitations.
