VERY fearful to take medicine due to potential side effects. I have a UTI and have to take an antibiotic but I'm scared to almost death to take it because of the list of side effects. What should I do?

Carson1958 Never read the list of side effects, never. It will permit you to never take a drug for the rest of your life. That list is for the protection of the drug companies so that in the remote chance one has a problem, they can't be sued.
The fact that you took this med before should relieve some of your anxiety in taking it. (unless you had a bad side effect) If that were the case, I'm sure your doctor would not have prescribed it for you. Rather than put all your fears in taking the medication, reverse that thinking to, if you don't take it the UTI can get out of control and cause kidney problems. Don't want to scare you but want to make you rationalize the concept of medication vs a medical issue not addressed.
Let us know when you start your med. The sooner the better so you will start feeling well again.
I understand. I'm currently nervous about taking sleeping tablets. If you didn't have side effects before or few it's likely you'll be ok again. Hopefully sorting your health out will outweigh the possible side effects.

Just took Diflucan for oral yeast & naturally panicking over it--I read the side effects and I shouldn't have. I fear medicines right now.
