Hi all. Been a while since I posted. Can our anxiety spike at certain times due to time of day. Currently everyday from about 2.30 till 4.00 my anxiety gets really bad like short of breathe headaches chest pains and vision issues. This does coincide with every panic attack I've ever had. They've always been around that time. Something else I don't understand is how we can always have some symptoms going on whilst we aren't even feeling anxious. If it was just during the bad hours I'd understand but the fact all day I have one thing or another going on is why I'm convinced something is actually wrong with me other than an anxiety disorder. It's so hard to accept. Having certain lower back and stomach pains at the moment. I had a CT scan and everything was fine. What does the ct scan detect as they were pereftly happy with it. Also, after the CT my worries lessened about my stomach and went back to my heart. Is this because anxiety needs something to feast on constantly. So once it knows my stomach is fine it goes elsewhere to create anxiety? If some one could answer these questions I'd be massively thankful :)

Hi Sandy1710, it has been a while...anxiety can spike at certain times of the day and it then becomes an expected and learned behavior. Finding out what the trigger is for your anxiety to spike at that time may help. Anything from a medication to an anticipation of something coming up in the day. You seem to be experiencing "free floating" health anxiety during the other times of the day. So whether you are anxious or not, it seems to take control just because your body is on alert. You are absolutely correct in that anxiety does make your mind focus on one part of your body or another. Until you can accept that it is a mind game that anxiety is playing on you, it will continue. Once you have been checked out by your doctor and tested, the positive results needs to be left in the background. Pondering about the what if they missed something or questioning the tests themselves just continues to keep the fire lit under your fears. You seem to understand and know how anxiety works, now you need to believe what you are saying. Wish you well Sandy. Take care. x

My anxiety is very bad if I'm hungry/full. I get really hungry and I have late lunch but by time I eat I think it's too late I'm already having an anxiety attack. Other then that I don't know what else it could be. I'm just at work at my desk nothing else is happening it's so strange. Did you have a trigger?

Sandy, there were all kinds of triggers for me. Not drinking enough water always was a sign I was dehydrated and would start feeling spacy and light headed. Subconsciously worried about holidays or storms that might not allow me to get to the hospital or have my doctor on call. Worried I might have to talk with someone in which case I would start overbreathing and would go into anxiety. And so, I didn't answer phones or doors and my world got smaller. Besides having had morning anxiety, my next anxiety wave would hit me about 4pm. There were times while making dinner I would start to feel extremely anxious and yet, after dinner very calm. We all follow a pattern except it's different for all of us. Whatever it might be, we have to try to erase that thought and replace it with acceptance that this hasn't and won't kill me, it is not dangerous and I will no longer allow it to take control. I had lots of therapy during that time which gave me the guidance I needed to figure things out. I hope you do too Sandy. x

Thanks for

Your replies agora. I don't know what's wrong with me just all these constant pains in my body I just convinced I'm dying. How can a mental illness give off all of these physical sensations. I'm so cared everyday is gonna be my last. Even my stomach has such pains again. I had a ct scan surely that would of found everything?

Hi I know exactly what you mean ! When I wasn't feeling anxious I would still have anxiety the whole day and I would struggle to even go out and do groceries etc because I would have a weak feeling in my knees like I was too weak and back pains , headaches etc once you realize that anxiety is playing a game on you , you will start to feel better and the symptoms will lessen . You need to gain knowledge about it and it's al a fear cycle that you need to end . Yes anxiety will effect your whole body whether it's pains , shortness of breath etc . If you want to talk to me about it you can email me barbie_mami@live.com I'd be glad to help u

Hey, I've read that adrenal fatigue can cause a slump between about 2 and 4pm....maybe that has something to do with it?

I have some experience with ct and can tell you they can pretty much detect everything and anything. They're bacisally a 3d look inside your body and can be viewed from every single angle so its unlikely anything will have been missed. They're also looked at by more than one person.

Hope this helps a bit x

I was laying on my stomach and went right the way in so I assume that's pretty conclusive? They were looking at my kidneys as I suffer with stones but I assume they'll look at the lot. Can they see through to your front too? This anxiety is absolutely killing me, just now I had a 10 minute period where I felt like I'd been hit by a bus and dragged along the road, my body was in pieces. Thanks for your replies :) x

I'd recomend watching a YouTube clip on ct, it basically disects your body (in a virtual way obviously). I'm a student radiographer so have sat and watched ct scans happen. They're about as thorough as it gets in terms of a medical examination.

I'm sorry you're feeling so rubbish. I too feel like I've been hit by a bus most days and struggle to believe it can all be caused by anxiety. I worry constantly that I have a heart defect. Anxiety, particulary health anxiety is such a terrible thing to have to live with. Its just awful. Hope you start to feel better soon xx
