Are you prescribed this many a day by your doctor ???

Hi

As Julie has said has your GP advised you to take this amount ?

Never take more than prescribed as long as you take the recommended dose then your GP obviously is confident they will cause you no harm

If you take more than the recommended dose then it could potentially be harmful & I would see your GP & explain how you feel & how many you are taking

yeah...it could be doing harm - maybe it could be addictive so starts to lose its effect if you take to much for too long - I don't know this drug well though I know this is true of diazepam. it means people end up taking more to feel the same. I do recommend talking to your gp. they may be able to put you ease or recommend something else.

Hello, I am not familiar with lorazepam. I have taken diazepam and then clonazepam. Both lost the effect eventually and I didn't take anything else. My neuro. then told me I can start again after a break but at that time my tremor wasn't as bad and I didn't..

I have ET (tremor to violent shake). Stress and anxiety being the worst enemy. I've seen 3 neuro. drs. One recommended a glass of whiskey befor bed and most recently another dr. a glass of wine. This too loses it's effect. I didn't take the whiskey but after being told wine, I did. Eventually that lost it's effect and I started drinking it as I was cooking dinner instead of with it. I had become a recluse, didn't go out and socialize. I really felt I was the only one in the world who did shake. I asked my neuro. if I could take something to help when socializing and when it got so bad at home. This, I've been doing the last 4 yrs. Some answers were there isn't anything or it won't work. I was given propanolol to take on a long term bases. This took 5 days to work and as the dose increased I suffered bad balance and nausea. Small doses didn't work. Now I have been given clonazepam to take when I needed it. This does put me to sleep but not reduce the shake. I've now been told to take clonazepam with propanolol. And I feel if one more dr/neuro says propanolol I will screem.

I've now been diagnosed with T3 colon cancer. The wine tastes horrible, taste being a side effect of chemo. The clonazepam is useful for taking to the hosp. and sleeping thru the chemo. I guess when you do get cancer all other problems don't go away.

I've had bad thoughts and thoughts of drugs not prescribed. I'm nearly 70 but can fully understand why we have so many alcholics, etc. now.

I started swimming 2 yrs ago and found the water to be very relaxing. Just lovely until about hr after I got home. I can't go now because risk of infection and do miss it.

I've just had a call back from another gp at my surgery who is telling me any tranquilizer will put you to sleep, any tranquilizer will put you off balance, but after much persuation on my part, he will leave a prescription for Lorazepam!

To all, hang in there.
