Wishing Everyone a Merry Christmas

One gift received this year-a day with my grandson. He and his Mom came over and I watched him and her open their gifts. We baked cookies and watched Encanto. They didn't have money to get me a gift, but that's OK . Their presence was a great gift to me. None of my children (they are all grown) made it here this year. No phone calls. No gifts. So their visit meant everything to me. Tonight it's me and my dog, Dexter watching t.v. Avoiding Christmas movies and shows. Drinking a cup of hot cocoa. Missing my kids. Most of my time is spent alone with only my dog for company( don't know what I'd do without him). Christmas was hard this year. I'm so grateful for the one gift I received. A priceless one that means more to me than gold. Goodnight. Hope you all are OK. Love and best wishes to all.

I told my kids that I don't need gifts for the holidays anymore. All I want is the gift of some of their time and a good meal. There was a time when my brother (who I actually think of more like a son) and my 2 kids would all go to church with me on Christmas. This year it was just me and my daughter. It hit me that she most likely will spend Christmas away from me at some point too. So I cherish the memories and the moments I have with them. The holidays will be for me to cherish me.
