I like counseling, it gives me a place to vent and get advice.

It is always 'good to vent' and having a counsellor or facilitator is a good medium, however I add, as a practising counsellor , I do NOT give advice - EVER - I have seen good people reduced to shreds for giving advice that was not right for the client. It is better to give well thought out suggestions of things that can help and allow the client freedom of choice to choose for him/her/self what is better for him/her. Nothing more negative than a counsellor telling a client what to do.

Good for you, I think all of us have a need to be heard and realize we belong and matter and are part of humanity.
