Healthier as a smoker.

I know bad things can happen to a smoker. I’m not saying anything about that. My issue is now that I’m smoke free for 3 years I keep seeing more and more doctors to find out I’m fine. I have had 4 fake heart attacks, different types of doctors, all say I’m fine. My hands breakout with bad eczema sense I quit smoking. Never an issue until I quit. Doctors don’t like that, say quitting helps with skin problems. It’s all lies!!! I was happy, now I’m a mess. Quitting is highly overrated.

My uncle nearly died of smoking smoking can make you have tar in your lungs and can make you have breathing problems . I think it was a wise decision of you to quit

People use all sorts of things as a crutch. Some use alcohol, some illegal drugs, and yet others (like me) and maybe you use cigarettes. It helps mask certain feelings so when you stop it they come back.

I think you need to tackle your anxiety at it's root cause instead of thinking about smoking. You have packed it in now for 3 years so move on past it and sort your anxiety out.

You do of course have the option of going back to it - if you are happy to play Russian roulette with your health and your life. Only around 50% of smokers get problems caused by it, but the trouble is you never know which group you are in until it's too late. Like me.

We are all human and succumb to what gives us pleasure at the time. But know that we all have choices and are responsible for their outcome. :) xx

You will see a difference. I quit Jan. 8th 2012. I didn't think I had any symptoms from smoking but I can breath deeper and I don't smell like stale cigarettes. You have taken a great step at being healthy you should be very proud of yourself.

What happens when you quit smoking

Oh and your hands breaking out from eczema can also be from stress. Did you see a dermatologist?

YesShe was not having it. The moment I told her my hands broke out once I quit smoking she was very quick to say quitting smoking helps with skin problems. I went there because of quit smoking after effects and they still won’t listen. Doctors will never say quitting smoking can cause a problem.

I feel that some doctors have a disconnect between anxiety and how it can affect our body. Anxiety can indeed cause or exacerbate skin problems. As Hypercat said, it’s time to address the actual cause of anxiety that started you smoking in the first place and resurfaced once you quit smoking.

P.S. Blaming all the changes you are experiencing on quitting smoking is setting yourself up to start again. Some of the changes could just be coincidental since you’ve been quit for three years and bodies change overtime anyway.❤️🚀

I’m trying to work that out. I’m having a very hard time calming down. I’m on edge all the time. I don’t know why they tell you it doesn’t last long after quitting. I’m more aggravated every year. Meds don’t help calm me. I can eat them like candy, do nothing. Doctor just gave me the big stuff, the big guns. Doesn’t do a thing. Think I’m done with the medicine approach. Maybe try a new hobby or yoga. I have tried everything now. Looking into some breathing technique. Sounds like a rip off but I’m willing to try anything. Therapy doesn’t help, pills don’t effect me, exercise just get me more angry. Next stop is yoga.
