Has anyone tried "The Mindful Way Workbook"? It is an 8-week self led program that goes along with "The Mindful Way through Depression" book. This book is based on Jon Kabat-Zinn's MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). MBCT is basically a way to use meditation (non-religious) to help with depression, anxiety, etc. I am doing the workbook now. I just finished week 4. I am also on medication (75 Effexor and 15 Lexapro). I have read that a combination of medication and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) produces the best results for most people, but I can't afford one on one CBT and haven't been able to locate any group therapy. Getting through the workbook seems to be helping a bit (or maybe it is the recent increase in my meds). Not sure, but I guess it is worth the try. Just wondering if anyone else out there has tried this? There is also a free 8 week self-paced MBSR course online (palousemindfulness.com/). I am working through this also as it has videos and other guided meditations/yoga which I find helpful.
