moods?

does anyone experience quick mood shifts? like literally from one to another in a flash, is that mania = manic depressant? how can you go from sheer happiness, to complete doom n gloom..I think I made a revelation today? Now, what do I do with it, or about it? wud appreciate some feedback with anyone that can identify...thx, wishing everyone a good n safe day.

this happened to me quite often. i thought it was bipolar as well but i brought it up with many mental health professionals and the mood swings don't happen that suddenly with bipolar. they need to last an extended period of time. some professionals suggested borderline personality disorder but i realized it was complex ptsd.

I used to be like that a lot when I was younger and realised it was due to my depression alternatively numbing my feelings then like a flash I would get very hyper, then back again. In other words I couldn't regulate my emotions so I was on an even keel. Once I went to counselling it was a lot better.

There is a form of bi-polar which can cause this called something like clythomia? Will have a look for a link.

I cycle from depression to mania to depression sometimes in 24 hours. When I was working my moods could change hourly. I was then diagnosed with Boarderline Personality Disorder. It made sense. You will need a psychiatrist to make formal diagnosis.
