Hello there. I am a 36 year mother and stepmother. I currently live in Myrtle Beach SC. I was born and raised here. I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder in 2016. I currently take Wellbutrin. I am finally functioning as a responsible adult which was very difficult with my undiagnosed depression. I also suffered with alcohol abuse for many years, a "functioning" alcoholic if you would. I am three classes away from my Master's in Healthcare Administration and finally have a decent paying job. This is my second marriage- the first one was riddled with alcohol and domestic and sexual abuse. My new husband is wonderful and has helped me out so much. I feel like I am finally "myself" again after so many years of alcoholism and one night stands and crappy relationships with men and my family.

Great to hear all positivity has headed in your direction, as to you following it. Continue to do so. There is much ahead for you😊
Rainbow, I believe that with
depression ( long term ), there
are a vast amount of people who
experience the same.
I am not sure how the anxiety and
depression, affect each other?
I am on 300mg of effexor.
I can not live with out the med.
I try to get some talk therapy.
Where I reside, the medical (both
state and federal) is a mess. Like
it is in the of the rest of the USA.
Give yourself credit, for what you
have accomplished. You definitely
have the motivation. Good for
you !
Congratulations!! You sound happy and like you have learned to make wise decisions. I am happy for you. Have you considered joining a church or small group with your husband? My background is similar to yours and we have found to stay in that sweet place and keep our marriage healthy we keep involved with others who are loving and supportive Again, so happy for you!
