Hi, all. I just started my first semester of graduate school. Everything seems to be going okay so far, and I'm not overly stressed, but for some reason, I have felt really exhausted this week! I'm not sure why. Could it just be that I need to get back in the swing of things? Could it be depression-related? I also have been drinking red cream soda recently. Could food dyes maybe have something to do with it? Just curious what your thoughts are.

mvillareal,
Good for you for being in graduate school! I am just about finished, graduation is in May! I became SO SUPER stressed out about 3 months into graduate school. Getting back into the routine, meeting deadlines, doing research, endless hours of reading and typing, participation in discussion boards, maintaining full time employment, amongst life LOL can definitely lead to situational stress and anxiety. You are not alone and it is not abnormal. You recognize it and are seeking support exploring what could be the causes and that is more than half the battle! Yes indeed diet has a lot to do with it. I totally changed my diet and it has helped me get to this point. So much so that I will now be conducting a group with my clients at work about it using the book The Food-Mood Solution, check it out at your local library, you may get something out of it.
