mirtazapine

Hi just wondered if anyone has been put on mirtazapine and what there experiences are or were of.it I'm due to start them tomorrow has it helped anyone at all? Thanks

I take 15mg. to sleep. It helps me sleep but does nothing for my depression. That is a low dose though

Hi there,

I am on 45mg of mirtazipine. For me it has been amazing - the only antidepressant that has ever helped me. It lifts my mood, helps sleep and concentration and reduces other symptoms too. Obviously it hasn't solved everything, but it really helps. The only side effect I have had is weight gain. It takes about 4-8 weeks to get full benefit.

Having said all that, response to antidepressants is very individual, so if it doesn't work for you go back to your doctor and see if you can try something else. Good luck!
