Hey, has anyone ever tried Cardio for their anxiety and/or depression? Does it help? My therapist keeps recommending it and I wanted some other opinions

One of the best things for anxiety is exercise, cardio included.

The key is being busy doing something positive and productive, be it exercise, charity work, laundry, taking your kids to the beach, self-care, anything. Anything but ruminating and getting caught up in the natural pull of negative thought patterns. This doesn’t mean you’re depressed necessarily, but you are human. Consciously re-direct those thoughts, send them packing with a firm “f$&@ off!!” Idle hands are the devil’s playground. Get busy finding your highest good, your highest skill, or doing even the smallest things that you don’t think matter, but they do and have influence on the world, well. Honestly with the vulnerability of your beautiful authenticity. Do everything with good intention. Intention is the seed, the thought comes next, action will ensue and a very real impact on the world is the final outcome. Cardio moves the lymphatic system and toxins can be easier to dispel. This is crucial. Toxins that build up in the body make it harder for the liver to metabolize, then they wait in line to get through and end up recycling back through the body. It’s a vicious circle of events. Drink water with lemon to alkaline the body. When your body is too acidic, disease can thrive. Infrared saunas can help too. I mention this often for anxiety: adequate magnesium levels. Get magnesium powder at the drugstore and stir a teaspoon into water or juice. It’s cheap and effective anxiety relief! And BHRT is an absolute miracle and can cure hormonal imbalance and hormonal depression in men and women.

Yes I have from personal experience gained benefit from cardio exercise for anxiety. I also do light weight training. I always lifted weights with my brother but never did the cardio until about five years ago. My joints like the cardio more than the weights now.
