Well, this explains a lot. Just this morning, after yet another night of insomnia (and weirdly feeling kinda okay but disturbed by that fact), I cried in the president's office and kinda quit my job.
Again, I impulsively quit my job this morning. And then kinda regretted it. Now, I'm trying to figure out how the hell do I -- or do I even want to -- do this.
Sigh, I've never impulsively quit a job before.

Ok, you have a diagnosis. This may sound simple or unnecessary, but I was sent to nearly half a dozen psychiatrists before the correct diagnosis was made.
You don't write who and how it came about or when this diagnosis was made. Or if you have seen another psychiatrist or neuropsychiatrist for a second opinion.
This is not the end of the world; just a different path than you expected. Share a bit more about what is happening so members can offer you the support you need and maybe some guidance.
If you do have bipolar disorder, there is good treatment available to deal with it and live a good life. Know you sound discouraged and disappointed with yourself, but don't be hard on yourself or feel lost. You did not cause this nor did you do anything unexpected in your situation. Keep posting and providing information so others in this venue familiar with your situation can reach out to you.
You may have that different path I mentioned, but many others have already walked it and know how it feels to walk it and find the assistance to navigate it. My best to you, and you will be in my heart and thoughts tonight.
