After a stint in hospital with suspected afib i was placed on 5mg Apixaban to be taken morning and evening
I am also taking Candesartan 8 mg and Bisoprolol 1.25 mg both to be taken once a day
My question is :- I thought saw something about Vitamin K on one of the medications not sure which one which and saying control the leafy greens and salad that contain Vitamin K
However on the new prescription tablets i have just got there is no mention of Vitamin K and green leafy vegetables and salad greens in the leaflet inside the box
Hi there, the leafy greens issue is a problem for people on warfarin, not the new drugs like epixaban which is one of the great advantages of the new drugs. I’m afraid I don’t recognise the names of your other medications.
Vitamin k2 alongside vit D helps to direct calcium to the bones rather than the arteries. Vit K1 is used in the clotting of blood, which the NOAC - new anti-coagulant treatments are controlling. I believe that’s correct….
