The answer is... If in doubt! I am 58. On warfarin for life. I have a lowered immune system and according to APS UK I am not at risk but, according to gov.uk I am and then I am not and then I am. Just figured its my life and my decision so I have taken it into my own hands and decided to self isolate for 12 weeks. You should do what feels right and if you have any doubt that you may be higher risk then act on that rather than information that is probably generic and not tailored to you.
Advice seems to be changing all the time at the moment, doesn’t it? I think the current situation is that you do not fit into the governments category of ‘high risk’ because if you did, you would have received a letter from the nhs by now, spelling out special ‘shielding’ procedures you have to undertake in your home. People in this category tend to be having chemo or organ anti rejection drugs etc that make them very vulnerable to infection.
You are possibly in the ‘higher risk than the average person’ category which includes the elderly, people with learning disabilities and people with breathing related conditions and so on. So, as Steve said you need to think about your own possible circumstances and act accordingly, erring on the side of caution. Remember it is better to be over cautious with this virus rather than not careful enough. Keep safe. 🙂
