Hi Emmalou. Presumably the clexane is in the form of small injections into the skin of your abdomen? It is not uncommon to have this during and just after longish flights and Lanzarote is c4hrs;15mins from UK. It will provide excellent protection from another DVT and shows that your GP can see the risk and is taking care of you. I wouldn't worry but co-operate with him and enjoy the honeymoon without fears of any blood clotting problems. It still makes sense to follow the other, usual precautions of avoiding getting dehydrated, avoid too much alcohol in flight, keep the feet and ankles moving as much as possible and wear the flight stockings during the flight at least. I wish more GPs were so diligent in caring for their patients.

Congratulations by the way and have a great holiday in the Canaries.

hi thanks for the reply, i knew about injecting before and after flight just didnt think i would do it everyday whilst im there, but 16 days worth of injections is obviously gunna help me stop getting another clot so i'll happily oblige to injecting for 16 days! thanks for the well wishes, emmalou
