Use of the "Profile" information

I thought I should just write a quick note about Profiles. I notice that many members have not put any information into their Profiles. I want to encourage everyone to put as much info into their profiles as they feel comfortable with.

I know many members don't want to say anything about themselves, and if this is you, then that's fine. But if you can describe something about yourself then this is a great help when we look at each other's profile, for example, when answering a question.

Again, some members don't like putting in any location information (postcode). But remember the postcode is not seen by other members and only is used to give an approximate location. Right now it's hard even to know which country some of you are in!

On the Profile you can also update things like what emails you want to receive and some other bits and pieces.

And none of this profile information is seen by the public - only by members.

Hope this helps, and please let me know if you have any other concerns.

Best wishes

Chris
