Intrathecal Baclofen (ITB)

Like a few of you here who have opted for ITB, I thought it worthwhile to explore its possibilities at my London treatment centre at Queen Square.

I have done a bit of research about it and found this article.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

However, the issues around Baclofen withdrawal described at the end of the article are enough to give anyone the heeby-jeebies. At my age (recently turned 80), it seems definitely something to avoid!

I'd be interested in any comments, especially from men who are on this programme.

And I know we have chatted about this before, over the years!

I use Baclofen, but I've never withdrawn from it, so I probably can't be of much help.I take three 10-mg pills each day. I tend to take them at night to help me sleep rather than as prescribed. I tend to be nervous and tense by nature, and they help with that. They were prescribed to help with back pain, but they aren't especially useful for that.

Whatever your decision, I wish you the best.

I have been teetering on the idea for years now and for some reason nothing seems to convince me. Latest hiccup has been pain in my buttocks and hips with any pressure so most recent attempt has been trumped by that.
