Why only the adrenal glands and spine?

I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this. Why is it that the disease process is focused just in the adrenal glands and the lumbar spine? Why is that say the kidneys or the liver are not affected? And why is that some with this diagnosis do not have their adrenal glands affected at all?

All good questions. The answer is that we don't know. That research has not been done. We'll probably only know in a few years time as a related learning from some other research or a therapeutic trial.
