Hello, everyone, today we saw a new amn trial, and it has been phase 2 trial.

I hope we can make a column to list all the drugs being tested or ready for testing by ald and amn, so that new patients can know the latest situation and follow the progress of the test at any time.

Hello,

I have posted about this before. Trials on mice just about cured them of AMN. I'll post it up in a minute.

Antioxidants halt axonal degeneration in a mouse model of X-adrenoleukodystrophy.

And here is a longer version

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

Here is the pertinent part of the discussion

"Our data strongly suggest that an early and carefully tailored antioxidant intervention using the cocktail described could be a plausible therapeutic option for X-AMN patients, who do not suffer from severe neuroinflammatory demyelination."

That's the thing. Early treatment, stop the oxidative damage before the spasticity hits. Likely too late for me, but we live in hope.

I'll point out that Vitamin E is fat soluble, in the animal trials, they used a water soluble form, Trolox.

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/121...

I took huge amounts of antioxidants religiously for about a year. I really did buy them by the kilo. Didn't make any difference to me, but I was really looking for spasticity improvements, and spasms.

I keep meaning to give it another go, like I said before, the one I didn't add to the mix was Vitamin E.

I'll post a pic of my collection of antioxidants. I'll have to start a new thread for that.

These are simply over the counter supplements, albeit in high doses. You are all welcome to give it a go. You never know.

Have to buy bulk powder, else it'll cost a fortune.

Thanks for posting this. You never know.

Don't forget to derive your antioxidants from natural foods. I eat fruits and vegetables with the highest concentration and eat organic when possible.

You are right (you are always right). Natural sources contain the micronutrients that chemicals could never provide. Though, the doses at play in these studies, I doubt you could get them via eating food.

Not what you're looking for?
