Apparently, there is a fludrocortisone shortage in the US right now. Teva has put a hold on manufacturing any more of this medication. I've been on the phone with their customer service department this morning, and they have no indication of when/if they will start production again.
Of course, there are other manufacturers, but I have contacted several local pharmacies, and their suppliers have no fludrocortisone in stock. None. This is very concerning, of course, for those of us who have Addison's disease.
I would recommend ordering more fludrocortisone immediately to make sure you have an adequate supply. I only have a week's worth left.
