Hi there alison, nice to meet you and welcome you to our group.

I know a lot of people complain about cramping. I do get it too. For me I'm not sure it's part and parcel of fibro but either the muscles cramping from over use or lack of movement. But either of those things do make my muscles spasm.

I know in these difficult days of the virus it can be hard to get to see a GP. But I would suggest if these spasms are new to you it may be wise to talk with your doctor. We have to be careful and not put everything down to Fibro. I hope you enjoy the rest of your evening :)

Hi Alison. ...I too get spasms in my fingers which makes medrop things randomly. I also get spasms in my legs. But the most painful ones are in my back. When these happen I want to kill myself as the pain is unbearable. I can't move and I even have to hold my breath. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason but I am having a medication review to see if a different one will improve everything I suffer with. I'm currently on sertraline but think it's far too mild to deal with my symptoms.

Take care

Carole

I have heard people say drinking bitter lemon helps cramp due to it having quinine in it?

hi Carole I feel like you do suicidal cause of the pain,my hands drop things too and my wrist is buckled now cause I've used it so much I've had to move to being left handed instead of being fully right.people who don't have fibro pain don't understand what it feels like, my worse time is always but menstrual cycle time is always really bad for me my back ,neck ect is knotted up due to pain.I feel suicidal 90%of the time,my hands shake then my legs shake, iam trying to get p.i.p last tine they failed me cause I attended the appointment, its like they don't believe anything you say,and from what I've been told the people at the medical assessment are not trained doctors and nurses so what right do they have saying there is nothing wrong with you

I too applied for pip....unsuccessfully. I've been urged to appeal but TBH I haven't got the mental or physical energy. I'm having mental health counselling due to my suicidal thoughts but after 12 sessions not sure how it is benefiting me. I have to work full time to pay my bills and not due to retire for another 9 years under the new state pension rules. I really can't see a way forward. But I'm hoping that with a change of medication next week, I will see an improvement in the next month or so. Not holding my breath though!

I twitch or spasm, it's like someone testing my reflexes and I have no controle of it. It is more likely in the morning for me when I am shakky anyway.

Hi its quite possible it is to do with the fibromyalgia, I get headaches all the time pain in my muscles, I feel like I've not slept properly even when I do sleep ,I get burning sensations in my hands ,feet muscles,I have also a sensitivity to hot and cold, cant determine if something is damp, cold or wet due to sensitivity in my hands and feet,go purple like they have just been in a freezer they hurt all the time.headache all the time and cause I've been taking painkillers for as long as I have they don't work.are you experiencing any of the symptoms I have discribed. Iam addicted to painkillers and I cause I've been on them for so long when the pain gets bad I cant do anything,I get brain fog, don't know what day date time it is ect

Wow thats alot. My dr has been great and im on morphine patches which obviously give me a small dose 24/7 but when i get up my legs are very stiff and painful especially inside my knees. That usually goes away in about an hour and then im just in what i call my normal amount of pain which is much more bearable on the morphine. Before i got that i was literally suicdal.
